    One Amazing RC

I got this in an email.
    Model- SR-71 Jet
    Airplane
    This is one absolutely
amazing remote controlled [RC] model airplane... Not only did they
build its jet engines, but included retractable landing gear, and
built it into a fully scaled model of the SR-71 "Blackbird" that
flies just like the real McCoy... This SR-71 model was built by an
Engineer / RC enthusiast in Germany and is certainly one awesome
    toy...

Very cool. The A12/SR71 is one amazing plane, nice homage to it.

the only difference between men and boys is the size and price of their toys.
there's a solution to every problem.......you just have to be willing to find it.

what are they using for fuel? I see a lady standing by with a fire extinquisher as he fuel/starts the plane.

Very impressive, I wonder what his operational ceiling is? A plane like that was designed to go high and fast. The model probably doesn't do acrobatics but sure sounds cool when it flies by.

Look like the ones we used to see fly out of Beal AFB 50 miles north of Sacramento. You would see them take off and then disapear quicly

After all that work, I don't know if I would have the courage to let it fly. I don't trust myself that much.

Any time I build something and it's not perfect, I just "Well, I'm not building airplane parts". I couldn't say that in this case .

Most of the turbines currently use propane or butane to start the engines then switch to Kerosene for run time.

Some of the newer models can start and run on Kerosene like this one.

The engines are about as expensive as I thought they would be.

Very impressive! The turbine powered models are always crowd pleasers. Several of the guys in the club I belong to fly them.
