I also have Tilley. With my shaved head, keeping the sun off my dome, nose and ears is a huge priority. The Tilley is great year round in Texas, but I do admit not as locally fashionable in many parts here as a Stetson or Resistol

Wife and I each bought one over 10 years ago and they are still serviceable and used regularly whenever we take the Jeep into the hills here in Utah.

My wife and I each have Tilley hats -- I'm going to get the winter one. They are great - I wear mine to work, and on weekends when we are doing outdoor craft shows.

              Living in Texas, absolutely AGREED!

Bought 2 years ago for cruises. GREAT in Texas, Costa Rica, Panama, and many other places.

              REALLY great hats.

BTW, off topic, but if you haven't tried Filson jackets check them OUT!!!!!

Classic scarlet jacket, Best I ever owned. Not needed much in Texas, but came in VERY handy in other places, as I expect it would be in snow country!

That's a cool looking jacket, very smart. I like all the pockets. I bet it is good for cold weather. I might hint to LOML when she prods for X Mas wants. Speaking of jackets, ran across this. Pretty good if you travel.

BTW, living in central TX where it usually doesn't get TOO cold, I also have one of these:

                    http://www.amazon.com/Filson-Mens-Wo...546315&sr=8-24

Great for those days that aren't "too" cold.

If you live up North ( Canada included) where it gets TOO cold (born and raised in Pa.), look at Filson.

FAAARRR better than anything I ever owned or wore. A bit pricey, but will last for your LIFE.

And NO, I do not work for them. But until I found them I was disgusted wasting money on so many other "brands."
