    Six Toes

I went for my MRI today for my upcoming knee surgery. The waiting area was very large with seating in the center of the room and along the walls. I'm guessing about 50+ people were there.

I was watching people and glanced over to the side and noticed a woman maybe in her 30's that had sandals on and she had six toes on EACH FOOT.

I tried not to be obvious, but I had to take a good look. At first I thought I might have been mistaken as I didn't have my glasses on. I don't need glasses for distance, as I can see the Sun (briefly) and Moon just fine.

Maybe she was there contemplating having the extra toes removed. I wondered if more is better. It might be for swimming.

I have a childhood friend who was born with the middle toe and one next to the big toe, both were joined as one. AS kids back then, we friends and classmates, always thought of her as special because she had that unusual toe.

That is called polydactyly. I didn't look it up, I remember seeing that in a book years ago, and it stuck with me, probably because it grossed me out. A lot.

I expect that she can count further than some of us...... but those barefoot running shoes are out for her.

I'm thinking perhaps that young lady needs to rethink her footwear...

That looks like some Japanese socks, only without the rubber bottom! All of my girls have some 5 toed socks from Japan.

House construction trade shoes look like that except they have a big toe separate from the other 4 which are in a separate section.

YEP! That be them! That would be a foreman's (just kidding). The ones that I see in regular use are plain ones.

                    6 toes and 6 fingers

My Great-Grandson was born with 6 toes on each foot and 6 fingers on each hand. Well 5 fingers and 1 thumb. They removed the little little finger which was just cartilage. The toes on the other hand, or should I say foot are still there, because they have bones. He may end up with them permanently.

FYI the mom and dad were joking about the baby that was in the news that had 6 fingers on each hand while the mom was in labor. So when the doctor told them they thought he was kidding.

                    Thats him in the photo.
