    Fine Woodworking and Letterman????

I'm not a fan of David Letterman but this clip with Nick Offerman was good.

That was a funny clip. It might have been in jest, but when Letterman said "There's no in between woodworkers...you can either do it or not", was just too cut and dry for me. I think a majority of the woodworkers are more in the "doing it". That's evident in seeing their work on these forums. IMHO.

I've never seen the show. But, I'll look for it and give you a review if I watch it.

I watch Parks and Recs, and find it to be funny.

The show's plots have to do with the ins and outs of a small town govt in Indiana.

Amy Poeler is the star (and creator AFAIK), although I don't think it's a really good role for her.

Offerman's character is great. He is the director of the dept., but believes there should be no govt. He is a hunter, woodsman, woodworker, crafty guy. Very funny, IMO.

He's got a router surfacing sled in the Dec 2011 issue of Fine Woodworking, which is also on the cover.

There's a link at the bottom of Pappy's post.

The video link and the one of his shop tour on FWW are worth watching. He does good work. His jig is on my todo list because I have some slabs I want to process in this way.

Very cool. It's interesting when you have famous people into a hobby you're into. Like William H Macy with woodturning...

But to answer the Parks and Rec question- I avoided the show for the longest time, but I started watching it on Netflix, and I have to say it's pretty darn funny. I love the Ron Swanson parts too. He's really quite good. And he's a woodworker in the show. One of my favorite episodes is when he wants to do something with his shop and needs sign off on codes. A very good episode.... and so true!

Just thought I'd note- Season 3 of Parks and Rec is now on Netflix. I'm watching through it now, and it's still good. And again, Ron Swanson's my favorite character.
