Staying out of the shop today...

It is actually raining which is no big deal, but at the same time, I have seen a lot of lightning, and since the ONLY light source in my shop is my electric lights, or the doors wide open, it is too rainy to want to open the doors, and too stormy to not be concerned about losing my lights.... So I sit here and surf the net on my phone...

Okay I should correct that. It DID give me a chance to wash out my air filters.... The secondary was REALLY getting nasty.

Same here, different reason. We're at the beginning of a four day hot spell. It's 93 right now & it's supposed to be in the upper 90's the next four days. It was so humid this morning the was fog. So I'm trying to avoid being outside much. And to think when I was growing up, we would hace. Been outside picking up hay or straw bales, doing irrigation, hog chores, etc.

Wise idea IMO to stay out during the storm. Hanging out in my shop in the lightning gives me the willies. The only source of power I have is an extension cord (I have to count my amps very carefully), so I bail for inside during lightning. I also carry a Mini-Mag just in case the lights go out.

Wow, rain? If we could only be so lucky here. We got a small shower 3 or more weeks ago. It's getting pretty bad.

Trade ya, we're day 14 of 100+ heat and the weatherman said it looks like it might be another week. It was 87 on my back porch this morning at 6:30.

Today's high was 64 degrees up here in the mountains. It's supposed to warm up a bit over the next few days. I could get used to this weather year-round.

What a great day! It's been so long since it rained like this. I have spent the day more or less just laying around with LOML listening to the rain on the patio... After the rain ended, we went to home Depot where the local Hot Rod club was having a car show...

Might get some rain here tomorrow but I'm not counting on it. Tomorrow is supposed to reach 40 Canadian with the humidity( 104 south of the border) and it will be getting hotter as the week goes on. I would rather a drier heat as your sweat will at least evaporate!

Pappy, I don't think you have dewpoints as high as 81 degrees with the 110 temps. That's what the dewpoints in Minneapolis was yesterday, with about 95 degree temps.

Man this has been a funky year weather wise. La Nina is kicking our butts... (We are collectively being beat up by the "little girl"!)

Right here on the coast we have been getting some rain since Friday, mostly drizzle, but Saturday was REALLY nice to have a rain storm. Good for spending time with LOML ya know?

I did get some shop things done this weekend, but not a lot.

Ugh, this weekend was brutal! I spent pretty much all day on Sat and Sunday doing demo at my brother's house. Plaster and lathe- they don't make them like they used to. It was actually scary how much moisture was still in the walls (his roof was torn off in the tornado and a lot of water got in).

But yeah, yesterday I had literally 6-7 liters of water and didn't have to use the facilities at all. Later that evening, I turned on the AC and even though it was only 80 in my house, my windows were all full of condensate on the outside due to the humidity.

All wekk is supposed to be bad- 90-96 all week...

Hot weather gloat

AC in the shop, temp is 78 right now. Putzing is on schedule. Made a light box for a neighbor who needs it for sorting photo negs. and repairing a doll crib for another.
