Please tell me you've been following the Womens Soccer World Cup!

Yesterday's games were awesome : Japan and USA set up intriguing final, but Sunday's USA/Brazil game was phenomenal, and not just because the USA won.

The women's game has a special flavor : less physical, fractionally slower, but just as high on skill. And of course, much less of the hyperbolic play-acting about injuries!

If nothing else, there are some real pretty faces there...

I have. LOML used to coach girl's Freshman soccer when she was teaching in the HS, and knows waaaaay more about the sport than I. The Brazil game was amazing—how the US team kept their composure is beyond me.

I enjoy watching the women's soccer much more than the men's, for all the reasons listed before. Same goes for women's basketball; women seem to be much more team skill oriented than men. Fewer "stars" and more teamwork. Was in the shop for the US/France game, but will make a point to watch the final.

The only sport I consistently follow is baseball.

Its not my fav sport to watch, but I do enjoy the game and those girls have a great team this yr. Hope they win, they smoked France

The "most exciting US women's soccer game in a decade" was a tie decided by penalty kicks (what else is new..). According to a piece I heard on the radio it did in fact have some egregious fake injuries (player carried off on a stretcher who then came running back into the game).

And worst of all, unlike the performance a decade ago it didn't involve any partial disrobing when they won...

I have caught a couple of the games but can't say I am a fan or following the tournament.

Something new to me - that player was given a yellow card for time wasting! Wish that happened more. (Of course, its only soccer that finds 'time wasting' a crime; other games allow all players breathing space and more - like TV advt time )

As for the disrobing - that happened in the finals; so keep your eyes open this sunday, starting 2pm ET !

I have been catching updates through yahoo sports. Football (soccer here in the backwaters of the sport) is just not my game. Now maybe if they played it on ice and allowed checking of the ball carrier it would be exciting. As you can tell I'm much more a hockey fan.

I played 2 games of soccer while in college. It made me understand how truly out of shape I was. Unfortunately, it's not a spectator sport I watch, but many coworkers get absolutely fanatical about so it obviously holds appeals.

Love soccer. My attention span doesn't suffer for not having commercial breaks.

My club team got relegated, but it doesn't matter. Love the game, would watch it 100x more than basketball. And while I like hockey, the NHL an it's troll commissioner aren't on speaking terms right now.

After that particular final, I saw a commercial ONE time which featured Brandy Chastain (I think she's the one who pulled off her shirt.) playing foosball against a couple of guys. When she won, they both looked at her. After a pause she said, "What?"

I'll keep an eye on the final, and that will probably be all the soccer I watch until the next World Cup or the Olympics.

Here's something else that's unique about the women's game. The lady has her priorities right and her head screwed on straight.

I think I'll tune in tomorrow.
