Thanks! Two sons, neither married, no grandchildren (there had better NOT be!). My oldest is spending the summer out of town on an internship and my youngest is currently in Russia.

#1 called a couple of hours ago and #2 sent an email this morning. Gotta love technology!

LOML and I spent the day doing absolutely nothing for the first time in years.

my father died last year so I have no father to be with for the first time, ever.
My son is in another city and my daughter is here. but things are quite hectic because she just gave birth to my grandson 2 months early, she can't drive yet so everyone's running around help mommie and daddy to visit him in the preemie ward. Besides the birth they had a shower planned for my daughter which took a lot of effort on Saturday. We had a quick lunch but I'm not spending or getting the time and attention I normally might. My anniversary is also today and my Birthday was three days ago which I guess also dilutes the effects. Between birthday, anniversary and father's day I got two shirts from my daughter who insisted my wife stop and get them for her, plus maybe some IOUs for gifts. Still, I'm not complaining, its a good father's day.

Since Father's day floats to a third sunday, about every other year it falls either on my anniversary or Birthday which are both in the third week of June.
It's pretty much like having a birthday a day away from Christmas.
