    Worked all day...

Worked all day washing and then waxing my '54 Chevy truck for a car show down in Scottsboro, AL tomorrow morning. It's the first time I've waxed it since its been finished (well, almost finished) and it looks so good. I won a trophy last fall at a car show and I'm hoping to pick up another one, maybe two(?) this year. Here's a pic or two...

              Cool Beans!

Yes cabinetman, 350 sb, 700R4 tranny with 373 gears in a 12 bolt rear. It's built on a 1980 C10 frame. It was a great show, but real hot out there, and I did get a top 10 finish in the truck division. Really cool to me. This was another show where the only people allowed to vote where the other drivers. So it's kinda cool when it comes from folks who know what's involved in restoring and customizing a vehicle. Had a great day. Might even go to another one next weekend. Thanks everyone for your nice comments.

                Hi Sweet Willy -

Congrats on the win. Great looking truck. And yes, it does feel good when other owners choose your vehicle.

Looks like your truck is the muscular brother of my wimpy 235. Might as well brag, too. Won 1st place trophy in my class at a AACA show a couple of weeks ago.

I saw a truck at the show with pinto pony skin covers like yours. I really like the look.

If you haven't already done so, check out the info and forum on "The StoveBolt Page." Great guys and info. http://www.stovebolt.com/

Willy, I think your engine is cleaner than my kitchen table. Truck looks great.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Having an old truck/car is a really neat way of meeting people of like minds and people of my age group with similar life experiences and beliefs.

Lonnie, it looks like our trucks rolled off the assembly line one after the other! Love the look. Thanks for the link. Going to check on it right now. Congrats on the win!!!

Nice truck! I really like the Elite series of edelbrock covers. I have their air cleaner on my '69 Camaro. I love the look, but they sure are a pain to get clean.

Power brakes? You must be spoiled

One more time and I wont take up any more space. Went to another car show this weekend and took First Place in the 1950-59 division (all makes and models inclulding cars). Got a cool trophy. It's cool because they made it themselves. I like that.

                            I love your truck!

The beautiful old curves and shapes are great. I can't imagine the time you spent to make it look the way it does now - Fantastic!

                            Glad you got some awards....
