removing IE from computer

    That is an old quote from them. That was part of the antitrust case, in which a little piece of software by Shane Brooks was able to easily remove IE from the computer. I just went looking and didn't see a more current version then XPlite.
    However, there has to be a way to do it (haven't looked at the Microsoft links), since they lost the EU battle, and even had to offer a version without it (which has since been canceled).

    That said, I will agree the poster might want to look at and try Linux.
    She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

      Yup. IE is the pits, but seems some sites insist that you have it.

      Microsoft and McAfee are the two that come to mind. If you try to access those sites with Firefox (e.g,) you get a testy response and can't get any farther.

      I have not gotten very used to Chrome, but I sure love FF. Sure feel clueless when I try to use IE (just doesn't seem intuitive to my old brain).

        Funny thing is, it works fine on my Win7 laptop. Woks fin on LOML'S desktop & laptop.
