I bank with Wells Fargo and they don't charge me anything to put my coins through their machine.

While policies vary from bank brand to bank brand, they can even vary inside of ones bank/credit union. In mine, if you take in unrolled money, and want cash back, they charge one fee for members, and another for non members. If you put it in either a checking or savings account, there is no fee. Have even heard of some, if they needed cash, going outside to the ATM after, to eliminate the fee. (never used an ATM personally)
Now they gave me grief a year or two back for bringing in rolled coins. I pretty much exploded, as when I joined, they didn't have a roller at all, and went YEARS without one. So I bought one of those inexpensive ones, and learned how to use it. (and told them such) Now they don't say a word to me, and check them against templates (correct size) then deposit them. They have only broken one open, the dollars, due to not having a template.
