    I did it again

Somehow, I just can't seem stay in one piece, either it's a shop injury or something else stupid.

This time I slipped on black Ice in the parking lot where I work. And considering that I never do anything on a small scale, not only did I break my left ankle, but I'm going to need surgery to fix it. Evidently, they will have to put in a metal piece and some pins to get it to heal correctly.

Now I have so much metal in me that I'll never be let onto another plane again.

What a great way to start off the new year.

Some people will do almost anything to get out of work. Just say no next time.

IS it the metal detectors that you are worried about, or the weight of the steel preventing take-off?

When is the surgery? Get well soon and keep us posted.

Is this yet another attempt at gaining a 'sympathy tool' out of poor wifey? I only see one flaw in the plan - the fracture. Minor lacerations and abrasions are OK but fractures are just wrong! All kidding aside, sorry to hear about your injury, Bruce. Best wishes for an uncomplicated recovery!

Bruce, if you wanna play hockey, you need skates, eh!

Sorry to hear about the mishap - hope you get something better than surgical steel, like adamantium.

Post the X-rays. I saw my wife's after she broke an ankle (at least nine fractures) and it was surprisingly easy to pick out the breaks.

Sorry to hear that. It just SEEMS as if all the bad stuff happens around the holidays. Well, actually, I've tallied it up and all the bad stuff DOES happen around the holidays!
I've sent you a pm regarding this, if you get a chance to reply.

Look at the bright side. You get to eat all the ice cream you wa........wait. Thats for tonsils.

Sorry to hear about this, Bruce. I remember when I was learning to ice skate. My butt remembers even better. Butts are built to take it. Ankles ain't. Time to get back into graphic arts. Don't need to do much walking doing that.
Heal up well, Bruce. I'm rooting for you.

Bruce, I could lash out with a lot of nasty

commends about ice skating while at the work zone, BUT...
Sorry to hear it was such a bad break for you. But with todays doctors, they can repair most anything. Keep us posted on how you're doing; and we hope you a speedy and painless recovery sir.

Man, it sounds like we're related. My family hasn't been on a vacation in the past 14 years where someone hasn't gotten hurt, sick, or hospitalized. My juju is so bad, I was only the 2nd person in the history of an accounting firm where I worked to file a workman's comp claim. The firm is around 60 years old now.

Hate to hear about your bad luck. Hoping that the surgery isn't that bad and that your juju changes.
