    Black Tails

I took these shots from my front porch this morning. I love it when they show up in the spring with their fawns.

The absence of a white belly is just one dead giveaway!

Black tails are all we have out here on the Olympic Peninsula. Small but beautiful deer, the largest of these does is probably about 100 lbs.

I am not an avid hunter (been exactly twice) but two things come to mind: first, I wish deer came through our back yard because they are indeed fun to watch, and second, DINNER!

We've seen a couple of bears and an occasional coyote but most of our visitors are either squirrels or birds.
