How do you eat a Candy Cane?

I've been eating one today and it caused me to think about which way is the best way to eat it. Hook first or the straight end first? I usually go straight end first and break it apart when it gets to the hook.

Yes, It's been a boring day.

To minimize the anxiety, get just the straight ones. But, then they wouldn't be called candy canes.

I snap the hook off in my mouth and play around with it in my mouth for a
while. Then I work down the straight section but don't usually savor that
part as much as the hook.

Since it is a boring day, you might try eating only the red part first.

          Straight end first
          Make a sharp point
          Poke my wife with it
          She grabs it, pokes back
          Get a pair of tweezers
          Remove the cane splinters
Put a band-aid on my wound

Pretty much an annual tradition, not so sure I should keep going back to the well though.

I like to make hot chocolate and use a candy cane to stir it up with and let the candy cane dissolve in the chocolate. Peppermint mocha anyone.

I'm with C.man - straight - but no bigger 'round than say a 10d nail. As far as methodology of consumption, it depends on whether I want relax with it while reading or if I want a flavor blast.

                Great News

I have just received a Federal Grant of $250K to study this issue. Will let you know next year.

Personally I like Mrs. Black Walnuts way of eating it. Solves two cravings at once.

I don't really like peppermint. I throw then in the trash or give them to someone else.

I don't even bother....I just give it to one of the kids to tackle. They seem to have it down to a science!

While a child, I asked another kid about my age this same question. His answer, "With my mouth."
