    Not quite true: as they do not emit light, they do need light to work. iPad works in the dark. And my wife thinks it is different but equally easy to read on either.

    BTW: seems some TJ Max and Marshalls are selling the entry level iPad for $100 less, they might be refurbished though. $399 is not bad!

        saw a CNET.com poll today on what people do with their tablets.

        Mostly browsing, it appears. E-book not even mentioned.
