    Best lip balm?

OK, all you lip balm users, man up and let me know what works for you.

Winter is approaching and my lips are dry and peeling again. For the past
few years, I've been using Burt's Bees. It never really worked that great
and unless I'm slathering it on like I do Anchorseal to prevent logs from
checking, my lips just dry out and peel. No, I'm not going to try Anchorseal
    on my lips.

What's your go-to lip balm? I've tried Chapstick and Blistex, too. I do stay
well hydrated during the day. I don't care if it's organic or is made from dead
dinosaurs. I just want some lip relief.

    Thanks,
    Paul

Having used various brands with varying degrees of success, seven or eight years ago I tried Carmex and hollered "Eureka!" I mostly use the squeeze-tube version but I carry the stick kind in my cycling jersey pocket, because it's quicker and easier to apply while riding.

+1 on Carmex. I've been using it since high school so the dinosaur comment may be relevant. I've tried everything else and Burt's Bees is a distant second.

Not sure if its better than dead dinosaur but.....(https://www.ilovechickenpoop.com/)

Carmex when they get chapped to help heal and chap stick plain to prevent it in the first place. I hate the taste of carmex.

Why do I feel funny posting about lip balm?

          +1 for Chapstick.

As a "frequent carrier" of lip balm, I usually carry chap stick, but am currently using a free neutrogena lip balm I got as a stocking stuffer last year. It's the norwegian formula, and works and feels a lot like regualr chap stick. I'm not a fan of blistex, too oily.

It's hard to believe, but my whole family carries some kind of chap stick at all times. When I was a kid I use to get chapped lips really bad in the winter, so I started to carry it around all the time. (Picture a skinny kid with bright red lips.) Now I make sure I take some with me wherever I go. If I forgert, I sometimes have to break down and buy another one. Dry lips drive me crazy.

Carmex. My message was too short before adding this sentence.

I use a Vasoline brand one at home and have a tube of ChapStick at work. They all seem to work quite well. For moisturizers I stay away from store brands and unknown brand names. The major brands in this category seem to work best. Don't leave a tube of ChapStik in a car on a hot summer day.

Burt's Bees has been the best for me. The greasy feel goes away fast but it is still working.

I've found Burt's Bees to be pretty good. I've heard that you should stay away from anything that uses petrolatum, as it doesn't work as well, but I don't know how true that is. I just prefer the more natural ingredients.

I can't help answer the question as my vote's for roughing it on anything less than a long series of days outdoors in sub-zero weather. A little lip pain is a small price to pay to avoid greasy/slimy lip goo!

If anyone has any completely non-slimy options, even if only mildly effective I'd be glad to hear them (better than nothing!)

Burt's Bees isn't slimy after a couple of minutes. It tastes good too.

Anything that works for you. Vaseline or A&D Ointment are probably the cheapest and work well.

I really like AVON Care Deeply lip balm . It is not waxy like some lip balms. It goes on very smooth and sort of "soaks in" better

Only problem is you either have to find an Avon rep in your area, or you can get it online.

They have several formulas, but I always stick with the Care Deeply because it is very light and not sticky or waxy

I typically use the fat from clubbed baby seals. You really can't beat it. Well, perhaps you can, poor choice of words.

But when I'm out of that, Carmex gets me through.
