Reminds me of the joke about the boss on a gardening crew constantly yelling 'green side up' during a sod installation.

I assume that's a real house somewhere. You can see from the picture that the stairs lead to a porch on what would seem to be the eaves of the UD house, there's power going to the house, the door is right side up relative to the ground, and the windows are picture windows which would be functional. The car is out of proportion a bit small.

But who would spend that kind of money to make a one-joke house? It makes a statement but then you'd have to live with it every day.

That is a way to attract attention. Back in the 60's an area here called Sunrise Golf Village, the developer constructed an upside down house to attract people to the site. It was pretty interesting. This picture is from an old postcard:

              Great pic, Bob!

I had heard of an upside down house in an ex-communist country - built for tourism, and to make a political statement about their past. But your post sent me searching for more :

This house is really upside down - you have to be spiderman to live inside, but I feel sorry for the cat here!

              Thanks for the post.

Trying to look at those upside houses

has my eyes dancing around in their sockets! Soooo, does anybody remember how to use your keyboard keys to flip the monitor screen for XP? I want to see how those guys look that were working in that one U/D building.
Most important though, thanks to you guys for posting those links.

Not really all that unusual after a Hurricane.
I remeber seeing a guy that had a shop built in a cargo container. Shelves built in and everything. The hurricane turned up completely upside down.
Shelves and workbenches still attached to the floor on the ceiling. Weird looking.
