      I know that Pi is an irrational number because the cartoon says so. That may explain why I don't have a lot of real friends. I do have some (i) imaginary friends, why is that? Might it have something to do with n! ?

          Quite good, close to 6 decimal point accuracy. 402 ppm actually. I might use this but most all my calculators have Pi buttons or I can use Pi() or 2*ACOS(0) in excel when i want accuracy.

          Actually all my electronics calculations usually use 2Pi and I just use 6.28 as close enough when most resistors have 1% tolerance and capacitors have 5% tolerance.

            Seems if you really want to be accurate you should use these guy's calculation. Personally when estimating I just use 3 or pumpkin whichever seems appropriate.

                Pi is a "rational number", meaning it can be expressed as a fraction. Pi is exactly 22/7, or approximately 3.14159.....
                Nothing about this explanation (or Loring's one after) is rational.
