Until I saw one on the hill behind my house, I didn't know that Badgers were in SoCal.

I watched the Badger dig up ground squirrel holes, until he got one. He mad pretty fast work of the squirrel and started digging for more.

And, they make great shaving brushes.

Well, two were "infamous"...Black Mamba, and Kraits. Besides those, different types of Cobras, and "Vipers".

          Hey Cab,

Krait was what I was thinking of. Boy do they blow up nicely, just a pinch of C-4.

            "Snakes...I hate snakes!"

I think it might have been a cape cobra:

King cobras are exclusive to Asia. There are many cobra species in Africa, in fact a heckuva lot of venomous snakes in Africa, probably explaining why I haven't been there yet...

Snakes !!! I hate snakes. Wish you hadn't mentioned it. There are rattlers and copperheads around my house. Don't have to go to Nam to get bit. But I'm still glad I didn't have to go over there. Missed by a year but I heard lots of stories from my brother after his tour.

Or, he could be a helicopter. If that's the case, no fear of snakes.
