    tool prices going up?

the chinese gov't has indicated it would allow their currency to float against the dollar and Euro instead of being pegged to the dollar as it has been for several years.

So this is something the US wanted for a while, it will raise the price of chinese exports and make US exports more attractive in china.

OTOH, the reverse could happen, if the Euro continues to sink against the dollar they may revalue the Chinese currency to keep Chinese exports competitive in Europe and they may even be cheaper here.

It more likely means going up, at least in certain categories. There are fewer and fewer USA made tools now.
