If you can spare some prayers and good thoughts for my family - we lost my mom today

Mom went home today. She was almost 88 years old and had been in failing health for years. Mercifully she did not suffer - she passed quietly while taking a nap after participating in some activities at the elder-care facility where she lived.

She always said her greatest accomplishment in life was raising 7 home-owning, tax-paying members of society. She was part of the Greatest Generation who saw her family's fortune wiped out by the Great Depression. She was a widow with three children who married a widower with two children of his own, and then they had my sister and me. A real "Hers, Mine, and Ours" story.

So, if you have any to spare, if you could, please send some prayers and good thoughts our way as we say goodbye to my mother.

My sympathies and prayers to your family. Celebrate the good times of her life!

My parents were also of the Greatest Generation and in a similar family situation. Dad answered about kids, "I have 4, she has 4, and altogether we have 6".

Prayers sent from Kansas. My dad has been given just a few months to live and we had to put him in a rest home, against our wishes. I hope he goes peacefully in his sleep too. He is 89 and that generation that he and your mom were in will never be repeated. You have my sincere sympathy.
