    The Change Is Complete

Picked up my son at 8:00 this morning and made the 3 hr run to Corpus Christie to get my Harley. I looked he over, shot some pictures, and took her for a quick test ride. We spent about 20 minutes doing the paperwork adn talking to the Ray, his wife, and her parents before heading back north.

By the time I cleared Corpus I was in love. A Glide has always been my dream bike! The trip was fairly smooth under cloudy skies with just a few light sprinkles until we got on the north side of San Antonio. From there for the last 50 miles or so to the house it was in and out of light rain. The fairing and windshiled protected everything but my legs from the knees down. I didn't even mind getting a little wet!

Got some more pics at the house before parking and covering her for the night. She is going to need a little TLC to clean up the effects of the salt air, but she will see a lot of ride time as it happens.

      That's a beauty!

I'm in Milwaukee and see them quite frequently. They're head turners.

Way to go Don. Be careful riding that thing. Our drivers down here are crazy which is why I don't ride.

She's a beaut. Does that mean all those woodworking tools are going to be neglected for a while?

Nope, but they may have to share my time. Already want to slip off for a day or 2 to make a run to Dallas!

Jeff, I thought about giving you a call but the weather was just getting bad and I had a function at the school for my granddaughter this evening.

sweet ride!! i love the color blue. looks to be in nice condition. what year is the bike and how many miles?

a couple of weeks back i did a run to bisbee, AZ and am now seriously considering the fairing in the front. my memphis fats helps with the wind, but seeing other riding ahead of me with fairings, its no comparison.

                          ride safe!!

are there a lot of wildflowers between Corpus and SM and SM to Dallas?
I think this years Texas Wildflowers are the best in years because of the long cool wet winter we had. I haven't been to Austin yet but they are already great around here and reportedly just a bumper crop so to speak.

Omar, she is a 2002 Electra Glide Classic (FLHTCI). When I rolled out of the seller's drive the odometer showed 40,082. I have the tour pack (trunk), but need to pick up the mount bracket.

More pics are on webshots at http://rides.webshots.com/album/577427107VLLKxk

Loring, the highways are beautiful right now. A lot of Indian Paint Brush, Black-eyed Susans and Bull Thistle. The Bluebonnets are there, but the drought has taken a toll over the last couple of years. The large areas covered in Bluebonnets still aren't there, but several times what we had last year.
