        The truck makes it worthwhile.

Makes it easier for the FBI/AFT to spot.

I wonder how many rifles fit on a truck.

Those trucks are commonly available around here. I've seen them sell for 5-10k in good running condition. Assuming these guys bought a lot of them, and the condition is unknown, they probably only paid a few grand per truck.

The Deuce got 8 mpg city, 10-11 highway. Top speed approx 55 mph (90KPH). In a previous life, I was in the logistics section of a signal intelligence unit.

There have been a few times over the past few years that I've thought about getting a truck dedicated to winter / lumber hauling, etc. A deuce-and a-half would handle that nicely.

I suspect the increase in my auto insurance premium would probably be offset by a decrease in my homeowner's insurance premium - (a deuce-and a-half in your driveway is a pretty good theft deterrent).

Only if accompanied by the platoon in the back...

A friend of my late uncle had the Korean war era version, I think it was a 6x6 Dodge Power Wagon, had a monstrocity of an inline 6 cyl engine. It was a creepy crawly slow machine, but we could take that thing up in the woods, and load it to the gills with the remnants from loggers getting mill logs, usually cut up as firewood, and it never would bat an eye... I bet my HOA would sneeze a kidney if I had a Deuce and a half in the driveway...

Back when I was USAR I drove a Reo Duce and half. What a kick. Would love to have one for Neighborhood watch patrol. Just drive right over the top the little rice burners racing around here. I can't remember what it weighed empty something like 10 or 12k but boy cold it climb a hill.
