    The Oscars 2010

I was happy Avatar did not receive the Best Picture - it's a watchable movie, ground breaking in technology and special effects, but old-wine-new-bottle as far as a Movie goes.

I was struck by the documentaries - 2 out the 5 (The Cove, and Burma, VJ) have as much story in the 'making of' as in the content itself. These were made with a lot of covert plotting, hidden cameras and all sorts of near wartime espionage atmosphere. I wish I could see them in the theaters.

I was not really impressed by the hosts (Martin/Baldwin) - could see the jokes' punchlines coming a long way, and nothing really humorous. After all these years maybe you can't have any surprises, but I'm not sure two are better than one.

Once again I predicted who all the winners would be without actually having seen any of the movies, except the 2 with the word "up" in the title.

And, I was hoping Sandra Bullock would not win for selfish reasons. I think my chances of hooking up with her are even more remote now that she's an Oscar winner...

Don't be discouraged, I think your chances haven't changed at all with her new award.

Jesse cleaned up pretty good. Jeff your chances are the same as mine Slim and None. I have seen Blind Side, glad Sandra got the Oscar, Looks like I have a couple of movies to see, but not Avatar, just doesn't interest me, must be my age.

I didn't care for the martin/baldwin team. their jokes just seemed so mean spirited, and what was up with all of the racial undertone this year... were they going out of their way to point out that there are issues, or did the writes believe that with a president of a different ethnicity, these things are now more acceptable when last year they wouldn't have been?

And what's up with the Sci-Tech stuff being on a different day? were they afraid to let the geeks on the stage with the "beautiful" people?

just pretend her only movie was "all about steve". She just won a Razzie for that one. (and deserved it, too IMHO).

Hey, at least I'm not covered with tattoos, in constant legal trouble and the ex of a porn star like her current guy...I'd have to be an improvement, right?

...and showed up to accept the award, along with DVD's of it for the audience. She's a breath of fresh air, feisty, and about the most genuine thing out there right now. Ah likes her... a lot... and after she wears out that tattooed freak show she's with, I'll be right here waitin'...

I actually kinda liked the Baldwin/ Martin team. A bit smarmy, perhaps, but I thought it worked for the most part.
