If I were to buy this...

...could I get about 2 dozen of you people to help me get it into my basement? I didn't know there was a 24" jointer.

Why doesn't the word 'planing' show up in my computer spell check?

24 inch jointer, Frank J. Clements with 3 phase converter. The jointer is in good shape ad works well. it is used semi-regularly and was used 20 yrs. ago to aid in the creating of 17 Armored Carousel Horses for the Euro Disneyland Carousel in Paris, France. Selling because of down sizing.

I like the part where he says it was used for crating the armored horses. I imagine there is enough cast iron there to CREATE 17 armored horses.

Doesn't David Marks have one similar in size to that one? I thought I saw it on a WoodWhisperer Youtube video.

Actually, he does say it was used to create the horses...

I'd say with a 24" jointer, downsizing is about the only thing you could do... I bet that weighs more than my pickup...

If I were to buy this.....

If you were to buy this.....first, contact a machinery moving company and let them give you price for moving and installing the jointer....you would be a lot better off and cheaper in the long run. They have all the right equipment
and they can do it with no problems.

II think you'd need a dozen friends just to hold the log onto the deck of that super carrier.

Big jointers (long beds) are great if you have the room for the in and out lengths. Not easy to move around.

IINM the one Marks has is "only" a 16". Still a whopper compared to what most of us have, though.

I can't lift much but I could tend bar. I have a 3" X 8" X 69" walnut plank with some wind that we can use to test it with. I think it will be a bit much for my 6 1/8" Cman bench top. As to the beer you will be serving for this endeavor, what brands do you plan on having on hand?

So you are saying that a Herc-U-Lift won't work on this?
