MS Office 2007 installation question...

    Too bad MS didn't include a compatibility mode where the user could switch from the '07 interface to the classic one.

        Yeah, I think I'll keep my 7 year-old (you name it) because a 3 year-old whatever is bound to be no better.

        It was a new design and a considerable advance on the 2003 version, better integrating its component parts. The menus are based on context rather than only content and after a little learning is, IMO, superior. What new software doesn't have "learning?" How would it be new otherwise?

          What can you do in '07 that I can't do in '03?

          On the UI issue, all I'm going to say is that I prefer to tell people to "Click on 'File,' then 'Open'" rather than "click on the thing that looks like a [blank], now click on the picture of the [blank], no the other [blank]."

          Why learn what the symbols mean when I already know the words?
