Taxes - Are You Finished?

Taxes are done, filed, the refund is in the bank and a new engine is sitting on my workbench waiting to get installed in my scale H500 r/c helicopter! Oh, and a new soldering station is on back order.

Our company does ours. Most CPAs don't take into account the full COL, living overseas, and ministry rules as a total package. I often ask CPAs that I meet when back home about this and I get different answers to all. Sure is nice to not have to argue with CPAs over what is and is not allowed on combo things. For my home state taxes, the fellow that does that for me is a retired missionary and is totally familiar with the exceptions and allowances.

Ours were done and filed on February 2nd. Minnesota paid on Feb 3rd (I was impressed). The Fed's paid on Feb 13th.

My wife works a little in the summer helping a friend with Parkinson's in the evening to earn a little extra spending money. We claimed this income (as good law abiding citizens, or at least as citizens not willing to fly a plane into an IRS building) which did rather sad things to our return.

Did mine with Turbo-tax Feb. 5 E-filed my federal and already got my refund via direct deposit. Mailed in the state return Feb 6 and it will be another week or so before I get the refund from them.
