I've Got A Cardiologist Appt Today

I'm going in for my quarterly follow up and find out my doctor has closed two of his three offices, and only works two days a week. I can imagine what the waiting room will look like. It will probably be SRO (for those that can stand).

Sorry to hear that. Is that lack of business or is it he doesn't want to work that hard any more?

Not from the lack of business that's for sure. He's about 50 and wants to retire. Bought a bunch of farmland in NY. He's pretty well heeled, but could live off of his wife if he had to. She's well heeled too.

You could trade him in for a young pup just out of Med School; naw I wouldn't either. Hope all goes well with this appointment.

I like talking to people and writing scrips more than sticking tubes up people's groins into their heart vessels. Unfortunately the pay is better for the latter.

Just remember to pay your bill on time, otherwise the doc could fall behind on his Mercedes and boat payments...

            (Sorry to be cynical)

Anyway, good luck on your follow up!

              Hey Cab,

I wouldn't worry too much about the outcome of your tests, we all know you have no heart .

Seriously, Hope all is well and you don't have to stand and wait too long. Or you can charge the doctor YOUR hourly rate for waiting. Try it, can't hurt?

              Best of luck,

If that is cynical, then what was me, wondering if the Doc had done that, do to most of his patients dying off? (a lot of the specialists like that I know are either younger then their patients, or only see them once the damage is done)

Did my share of waiting, but this doc is worth the wait. I have to get some blood tests and a chest X-ray. Wants my Niacin and fish oil increased. EKG showed a blip, BP was a bit high, so what else is new.

My blood pressure goes up at the thought of visiting a Dr. I thought that was normal.

Now the last time I visited the dentist (you'd say too long ago), my blood pressure got REALLY high. The Dentist came over after the gal did a couple of attempts, and when she walked off, the dentist saw it drop. The assistant was both cute, and reminded me of a psycho that my boss and I both tried to date (and he married).

Seriously, glad to hear you're in pretty good shape. Crank up the niacin and fish oil and watch the BP, will ya? I'm going to do kitchen cabinets in a year or two and I'll need your advice. (Yes, it's all about ME. )

I just realized, you live in Florida. Can't you squeeze your own fish oil?????

...and just what is the problem with a big heart? Isn't that what enlarged means?

In addition to the fish oil and niacin, don't forget exercise and go easy on booze.
