I know there are some members here from Ca. How's the situation out there? Everybody OK?

6.5 earthquake off the coast near Eureka. That's about 500 miles from me, so I didn't feel a thing. It looked like it was on the San Andreas fault, so the Bay Area people might have been shaken.

I was off the Coast up in Humbolt county, which is at the far northern end of the state, quite a distance from SF. There is damage but it is not a heavily populated area. It can't be too bad as the local channels haven't run any thing. It is probably on the San Andreas Fault. They have been having some small Earthquakes around San Francisco this week, so it could be a continuation of the same activity.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the coming days and weeks. Will probably know more tomorrow when they have chance to check the area out in day light and the scientist check their sensors and recorders.
No Al, this is not Global Warming.

I was down in the Bay Area last night. Didn't feel a thing. Now the roof rats are another story. Buggers woke me at 3 AM. Then I literally found a rat's next this morning while moving some more lumber.

          Earthquake, what earthquake?

We are about 125 miles north of the earthquake and felt nothing. Friends In Eureka CA were still without power at home today but no damage beyond some broken dishes in their restaurant and some frayed nerves. We were all lucky it was a deep rolling quake rather than sharp shaking quake.
