They will all be going up in price again soon, So lock in for your next deal for a yr cause thanks to those idiots up on the hill we all have to pay more for something that wasn,t broken in the 1st place.
I would never get Telephone service I rely on from an internet company. Phone companies and internet companies have a completely different concenpt of reliability... Reliable to an internet company is 99% .. phone company, 99.999%
Does anybody have Dish and how do you like it? I got DirecTV oroginally because of the NFL DirecTicket package some years ago, but haven't renewed it in several years.
NFL Sunday Ticket is the one dealbreaker for a lot of folks. With friends/relatives having both providers I don't think there's really better service from one than the other.
We have DirecTV which I don't think we'd change as long as the standard def DirecTIVOs are still supported (the HD ones are no longer supported, and the SD ones are no longer sold). While we now use DirecTV branded HD DVRs for the main rooms, the TIVO based models were/are a vastly superior UI, with tons more functionality (if you don't mind spending a little time at a linux command prompt to tweak them out). Of course we're also on a deprecated programming package that is no longer an option for new folks as well so I don't know exactly how that impacts monthly costs.
At some point when they phase out their MPG2 stations for MPG4 flavors and the DTIVOs stop working we will likely compare Dish/DirecTV again.
I've had Dish Network for 10 years.. 4 moves, and I'm on my 3rd DVR (upgraded for more features) I'm ok happy but customer service went down the drain when they moved the call center to India.
Quality of install largely depends on your local contractor..
In my area the same shop does Dish, Direc and Cable so you get the same guy no matter who you call.. Lucy for me they do great work in this area.. When I lived in Denver all the installers sucked on some level.. One even wanted an extra $75 to bring a ladder out.
I was going to say IF you go Dish net and want an HD DVR wait till Feb 1st for the new VIP922 to come out.. 1 ter internal drive and it'll stream video to your PC.
