ROFLOL! I called those nuggets "kitty delights." But I like "kitty roca" better!

Nope. No "elite" model for me. Just the el cheapo basic LM model, $75 or so at Wally World.

Shoot, the LitterWorks console cost more than that ($99 + shipping, AND got me some shop time to assemble, stain etc). But IMHO well worth it for far less aggravation of cleaning the box 2-3 times a week. (And NO odor!)

I looked at the LitterWorks solution for years before biting the bullet, especially with our 25 pound poop machine.

Well worth the $99 + shipping IMHO, and the cats do not mind it at all.

        Couple more questions...

Anyone heard of a cat freaking out and not wanting to use an 'automated' litter box?

Occasionally cats refuse to 'share' litter boxes (we had one that would crap on the rug *next* to the litter box if another cat had even gone near the box)... would one of these automagic systems tend to alleviate that?
All right, breaks over. Back on your heads!

I tried the LitterMaid, and for me it didn't work too well:

          - You need just the perfect litter. To much clumping, too little clumping...
          - If your cat likes to urinate in the same corner over and over it will cause problems.
          - If you cat likes to dig a lot, litter gets into the tracks and the mechanicals.
          - If your cat sometimes doesn't quite hit it, cleaning that up is more work than with a simple box.
          - The Littermaid isn't designed to be disassembled and thoroughly cleaned. And who wants to work with parts covered with sticky dried in cat wee anyway...

In the long run I found a regular cat box less hassle.

Yes, I have. I guess that's where my guardian angel plays a part again. Never had that problem.

Three large corks, some 5-minute epoxy... problem solved.

Litter-maid was sold in the last garage sale. Good riddance. We use a covered litter box with a charcoal air filter, multi cat non-clumping litter, and scoop daily into a litter locker:

                http://www.petmate.com/Products/Litt...us__22501.aspx

When people visit, the first time they know we have a cat is when he introduces himself. Even people who claim to "smell" cats when they enter a house.
