Everytime I hear a forecast, it's getting colder and colder. We right now have some white dandruff looking stuff falling from the sky. I'm seeing predicted lows around 10 deg. later this week. This is going to be the longest, coldest cold snap that I remember having around here for a long time.

Friday should be interesting for us. They're predicting temps in the low 40's with rain during the day Thursday, turning to snow Thurs. night (2" to 4") with temps in the 20's. Friday morning, the high isn't supposed to reach above freezing. A friend of mine who is a volunteer firefighter isn't looking forward to how the roads may be. I anticipate a weather day for schools around here. Worse case scenario, and the power lines go in my neighborhood, I'll be home on Friday, since there's only one way in/out of my neighborhood.

If elected to President,I promise to move the rotors on all those windfarms so that they will blow all of the winter weather back up into Canada where it belongs!

Funny thing for us is how well behaved the German Shepherd (Sebastian - SWMBO named him) has been. He knows if he behaves, he can stay in the nice warm house. Needless to say, he doesn't wait for his pee to hit the ground before he's at the door ready to come back in.

Long range forecasts are starting to show the possibility of snow for us twice next week as well. Just trying to get the generator ready in case we lose power, since the power company doesn't even acknowledge the existence of my neighborhood, except when it's time to collect the bills.

Some one want to explain that global warming stuff to me just one more time? Oh well, this cold snap has proved that the insulation I put in the shop (aka garage) overhead and on the door worked! My little space heater is keeping it cool, but comfortable.

Usually it's been around 30 below(Canadian) at this time of year. It's olny been getting to half that at best( or would that be worst?). I'm not complaining about the heating costs that I've been saving on though.
