I just asked our friends in Minnesota to shut the door, in another thread. But maybe they'll just blame it on something north of the border.

We're skipping church this morning because of the cold. One boy has an ear infection, and the other seemed a little "puny" yesterday. It has "warmed" up to 29 with wind chill of 22.

We're looking at mid teens for the lows by this weekend. Possibility of snow Thurs. night. Highs in low 40's for the week. That's our usual low.

How do you folks north of the Mason-Dixon handle this?!

You folks don't know it's all a Canadian plot?

You know those "blue Northers" winds we get? That's the Canadians setting up huge fans along the border to blow cold air down here to make us suffer!

It couldn't be me. I am full of hot air

I just came back from breakfast with bunch of forumites. It is windy, snowy, and wind chill is -25C (-13F) and life is just normal!! In fact we just helped one member taking an old Beaver lathe out of the house into the garage and big Oneway Lathe into the house.

Having said that, days like today, I am glad my shop is in the basement

I noticed all the kvetching comes from guys without a minus sign between them. What a bunch of wusses.

8 right now, -19 this morning. The front stoop was a bit nippy when I got the paper this morning. Maybe I should have put shoes and socks on?

I'll freely admit it...I'm a cold weather wuss. I was born in NOLA, did some growing up close to Tyler, TX and now live in Montgomery, AL. I hate the humidity as well. I really like the 2 weeks of warm weather we seem to get around April. The other 50 weeks, I'm miserable.

We do have 4 seasons here in the southeast: hot, even hotter, hotter than **** and Christmas.

Yeah, but the ground I walk on doesn't move without warning! I'll take the weather over quakes just about any day of the week.

Turaj, I saw the "gloat" elsewhere. All I can say is I'm glad it was you carrying it down to Mack's basement. Looks like it's going to be some fun though.
