Good luck with the recovery. You may find you can separate your friends from the others by how funny a joke they tell you....

Well no jokes today please. It is worse than yesterday or Friday was. The anesthesiologist said that certain parts of my anatomy might swell and 'feel like I got kicked'. Boy did it ever. Holy Crap! Yes, this probably TMI but is cathartic to rant. My wife being female lacks those parts so does not have a frame of reference for getting kicked there.

The chief cause of failure in this life is giving up what you want most for what you want at the moment.

Laughing, wait until she finds out something else you can't do for a while. She may start telling you jokes. Hope you're well enough for New Years Eve.

Bill, over here in the rain.

Today is a week for me. Yesterday was the first day with no pain pills. I have been coughing - I think it's worse than laughing but I haven't been laughing much - and my left side is sore about where I think they stopped with the mesh. It hurts when I try to roll on that side or if I push on that side but not normally. It hurts a little when I cough but not nearly as much as it hurt to cough the first few days. Groin doesn't hurt at all, even with mild pressure or when coughing. Still walking 2.25-2.5 miles per day in about 30 minutes. One of the three incisions is pretty well healed, and the bruising around the main entry point is decreasing noticably. I don't go back for another week, I am guessing the brusing will be totally gone by that point and you will be able to see the incision cites but they will pretty well healed. But I will still be on weight restrictions for 2 more weeks (total of 4). I expect to have to gradually increase after that.

My son will have to put the turkey in the oven but it's surprising what you can do even with a 10 lb limit. I use a fish scale and if it is comfortably under 10 lbs, I do it.

I think walking some helps. I did 1.2 miles the first day, 1.5 the next couple days and then my current 2.25-2.5 miles.

            Jim
