I was on the decade plan as well and finished my degree a few years ago at age 30. I will second the comment about colleges doing a poor job of dealing with the "non-traditional" student. Glad you made it!
Industrial Technology from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. The program I went through is a business degree with roots in engineering, sort of industrial/engineering management.
JR, I worked in the Bay Area last summer for a large aerospace contractor. I wouldn't mind living/working there but real estate is still ridiculous up there. I own a house here and my wife has a good job so we're attempting to stick around but the outlook isn't great around here right now.
I encourage people to not measure themselves by their degree of education but regard it as a great tool to climb higher and achieve much more. Use that new tool for yourself, your family and for others!
It took me 5 years to work out a 2 year grad degree!

Experience is what you get when you don't get what you wanted!
I am presently attending college, I cant wait until I can post that I just passed the last final... 2 more years... I am an electrical engineering major. 30 years old, working a swing shift 50+ hours a week alternating from days to over-nights, 2 kids (1 at 4 years and 1 at 7 months). I know exactly what you mean about the extra effort required to get it done.
The electronics classes are fun, the math not so much...
Congratulations! I'm about to go back for degree number 3 because the first 2 have landed me jobs doing what i dont like... i'm in the same boat and know it was super hard for you so WAY TO GO!!!!
