    When a llama attacks!

When a llama attacks! A true North Texas story of survival

    http://www.star-telegram.com/804/story/1761304.html

"That sapsucker just went crazy," Steele said Thursday before heading into a doctor’s appointment. "He run into me and knocked me down, and then he grabbed my leg with his mouth and went to jerking on me."

Steele’s friend Terry Flowers, 54, witnessed the attack and came to his rescue.

"I just happened to be on the opposite side of the fence and I happened to have a pipe in my hand," Flowers said. "I cleared the fence and just started beating on him."

Lemme preface it saying that I am not one to enjoy others' misfortune; you'd never see me laugh when anybody falls, even if it's Mr. Bean on TV.

Having said that, that news report is one of the most hilarious piece of 'news' I have ever read!

All Texans seem to have a very heightened sense of humor - even the victim of the attack, as evinced by the quote Eric pasted above .

And then there is this gem within :
"My grandkids rode on his back and did everything with him," she said. "I have always heard they were spitters, but he never spit on anyone except for my sister — and if you knew my sister, you would understand why he spit on her."
And if you scroll down, somebody has commented :

This story is not complete without pictures of the sister...............
And of course I'd be remiss if I did not remark on the name of the restaurant they own. No wonder they think he's serving Llama meat

Llamas are nasty, dirty, stinkin', ill-tempered and dangerous. I like animals, but I wouldn't shed a tear if llamas were extinctified...

This attack is understandable. There's been rumors for a while about a llama revolt. This just proves that it's starting. Hey...it could be true!

UC already pointed out that llamas are revolting...

I know he said they are nasty, dirty, stinkin', ill-tempered and dangerous. Now that would be considered 'revolting'. I meant 'revolting' as in 'revolution' (from the Latin revolutio), a 'turning', as in bonkers, banshee, ballistic, and just tired of being 'kept'.

It could be just a local thing because all the llamas in my neighborhood are pretty docile (except for some sporadic spitting). I sure hope they don't hear about this incident.

I don't know, it might make 'em think twice about revolting.
Getting beaten with a pipe, shot, then beheaded might make them think twice about getting out of line.

While the title does seem humorous, you'd be surprised how many people get killed or maimed by seemingly benign farm animals such as cows (not bulls, either), hogs, and deer. Just ask Pappy about the later, I still pop a grin over his cowboying-deer adventure.

                              Don't Rush to Judgement

As the Owner of the KeyLlama Brand, I feel I need to go on record as deploring the actions of this individual Llama and ask that you not judge all Llama's by the actions of a few hate-filled, radical Llamas.
