Wife wasn't there. I was up in New Hampshire on business.

The chief cause of failure in this life is giving up what you want most for what you want at the moment.

I am going to chime in here with the little knowledge of this that I have. I have been working in a 7-11 for almost three years now. I worked the graveyard shift for two years. I have carded quite a few people in that time and there were a few that I could have sworn were only 18 but were closer to my age (and Croketts if I remember right). I am not a good judge of ages at all and to cover my hind end I will card someone.

Now I haven't been carded in a long time. The last time was when I had been working in the yard and running to the dump and had a baseball cap on and no make-up, that might have been the reason. I don't know. But I was born and raised in this town and most everyone knows who I am and since I have worked the graveyard shift know most of the guys who work in the bars or in the restaurants where I go so I don't get carded.

I carded a guy on night and he was close to 40 and he got very upset with me and stood and argued. I told him he didn't look over 30 and it was Labor day weekend here and that is our rodeo/fair weekend so we card everyone who is questionable. So I finally told him he didn't look that old and if he wanted the beer he was buying that I wanted to see his ID or he didn't get his beer. He finally showed it to me and calmed down a little bit.
