    Spell-check on BT3

Someone mentioned that they wished the forum had spell-check. I am using FireFox and spell-check is built into the browser. If your using FireFox and not seeing misspelled words underlined in red perhaps not turned on. Look under TOOLS OPTIONS on the Advanced tab check the spell box.

Being a non-speller, it's one of those learning disabilities that no one believes in who can spell, I rely on it a lot. Some times though, I select the wrong word from the list, (right click and select from list) and suddenly I sound like a total illiterate.

Just thought I would let those who are interested know it's there in FF, and if you are still using IE it's another good reason to switch.

    Bill,

I'm using FF, and I never knew it was there. Mine was already checkked, and the indication was there for "chekked". Cool!

The spell check set on is the default configuration for Firefox on RHEL 5... Handy setting for sure!

I use Firefox and the spell check is certainly handy. A lot of times I just type away and let the underlined words pile up then go back and let the spell checker have at them. When I'm done most of my lengthy reply's look like a mine field of underlined words. I'm a terrible speller.

Thanks Sam, found it and have it installed. When I was asked if I spoke used a foreign language I put down English as my second language.

Google Chrome includes a spell checker that works with the BT3 forum.

well i use firefox, but dont know how to use the spell check!

the words that i misspell get underlined with red, but i am tired to trying to spell it other ways to get it right. i dont know how you can choose the correct spelling as you hinted in your post?

Right-click the red-lined word and choose from the suggested alternatives. Most often the first one will be correct, unless you've really made hash of the word you're trying to spell.

The spell checker comes up on IE on XP, but not FF or Safari on my XP.

I haven't seen the Sp Ckr on the Mac side for this forum.

The spell checker in FF is embedded into the browser
itself and not an add on. Go to preferences --> advanced and click
check my spelling as I type. (at least that is where it is in the Linux
version of FF). I have no clue as to how to turn the one on in Safari.
