I usually just return it for a refund. Rarely do I call.

Each and every time, how else can one expect products or services to get better. Besides its better than letting it grind on you, just get it off of your chest and be done with it.

sometimes they make it hard for you.
I recently came back from a Cruise in Europe. Before I left I made sure to tell the baknk that I was travelling and not to flag suspicious activity on my credit card in Northern Europe from day x to day Y. As they had cut it off before for stuff like this. I don't mind them monitoring for fraud but it sholdn't make the card impossible to use, either.

Well, lo and behold they did put a stop on the card because of the european expenditures and sent an e-mail and phone call to the house, I was neither monitoring e-mail nor phone calls on my home answering machine so how was I to know?

So when I get back I call and complain, the rep can't or won't explain why the system failed except to say i should have called and told them i was travelling whihc is what I had done. So we're getting exasperated with each other and she says she is going to transfer me to customer satisfaction (apparently she is not, there's a special department for that) and transfers me to a dead extension "I'm sorry the number you have reached is not in service..."
which I can say pleased me no end.

So I send a pointed e-mail to their web site contact for customer service and ask two questions: One:Why does my card get cut off after I do what they tell me and give specific travel plans, and two, do they always transfer problem customers to dead extensions?

So i get back a form e-mail stating how I sshould have told them I was travelling and what days. So I reply saying you didn't answer my questions and the thread comes back with the same exact same form letter again. Evidently they scan the mail for key words and select a form letter reply and no human reads it. (just like the note in my credit card acct thet says I'll be travelling, don't cut off this card).

So how do you complain to an organization that ignores you? I guess I should just take my business elsewhere.

While that might be a pain in the A$$, that's exactly what I would do. I just hate it when you do the right thing as they told you to do and then they go ahead and screw it up anyway and then attempt to blame you. The stress of it all can really get ya but don't let it. Give em the "boot".

From this wording, I'm trying to figure out what the heck I would buy at a grocery store that "works". I pretty much go there to search for food that isn't available in my yard, and check out the mellons. Ya know, you can eat anything that is fur bearing, and that covers quite a few critters.

So for things in a grocery store that "works", for sure, if I bought a cork remover, and it didn't work as expected, I would certainly complain.

              No

I have had better response when i go back and return the thing. when they ask, i tell them how it worked, and i did expect more from there company. I then try another co, and see if theres is better. I have got a call from a local company asking what they could do to to make me happy!
