    Only in Florida

I have to admit that 'pet' was not the first thought that came to mind, in fact after boots, tastes like chicken BBQ and a bunch of others the closest pet image was turning it loose to eat the neighbors barking dog.

And that wildlife guy with the snake proof rubber boots, does he really think the boots will be of help today?

    Ok new thought.... Magic Kingdom....

Delilah, an 18-foot-long, 400-plus-pound Burmese python

An ever better idea, leather topped desk....

The boots are to keep him from slipping in the sh-t from people on the scene who are afraid of snakes...

This big girl was a pussycat, and let people tug her around and stuff her in a dog carrier, without biting the crap out of anybody, which is what I surely would have done...

We're starting to find them more and more in the wild here. Seems their owners just let 'em go. Besides do ya-all think snakes can be pets or do their owners just think that?

OMFG, um, just to point something out, but the moment your pet can eat you WHOLE, it stops being a pet, ...

To me there is only one good sanke and that is a DEAD snake. I would shoot the sucker and ask questions later.

You already know what I think... (although I've never owned one bigger than 11 feet)

I know people that have snakes, and will play with them when I am visiting, but nothing more than 4-5 feet. In the wild is another story, one that will end with a 20ga blast.

This one was kept in the yard in a chain link fence cage? Isn't that about as effective as putting up a fence to keep a cat in the yard?????

Good thing about Colorado is that something like that snake won't last long in the wild. If my 12 ga doesn't get it, the cold will!

I saw pics of the cage. It was very sturdy (it had a top, too) but snakes are escape artists, and one that size can generate tremendous power, so it pretty much follows that if it wanted out, it could get out. A snake that large should be housed in a conditioned enclosure of ballistic plexi.

It's big and impressive for sure, but this poor guy in Florida got a scare from a snake that is feared quite a bit in Africa and IMHO scarrier.
