Remember, there's no such thing as a stupid question.

I've read several posts on here about the BORG and I cannot for the life of me figure out what that is. I looked online to see if it was some big retail store, but no luck. I can only assume it is an acronym for something to do with big retailers, but I cannot tell for sure.

Can someone please enlighten me so I too can join the club of all things BORG?

    Thanks,
    Dave

Bright Orange Retail Giant, or, somewhat reduntantly, Big Orange Retail Giant.

    Also known as Home Depot.

Without a degree of specificity, some may also refer to Lowes as a "BORG" (its been known to happen), but both Home Depot and Lowes qualify as a "BIG BOX STORE".

        Beyond the acronym think:
"Resistance is futile you shall be assimilated" with regards to mom and pop hardware, appliance and lumber yards and the home improvement centers. Of course this qualifies WallyWorld as a BORG too.

A lot of the time HD will be referred to as the "BORG" and Lowes is the "Blue BORG".

How about "Blue (and) Orange Retail Giants"?
                or
                "Big Ostentatious Retail Giants"?

BORG is an apt name as it assimilates all the little stores.

                  Kind of like Cybermen
