Having Brits for friends, isn't that just the leftover bits from a roast?

I thinks that something dirty, but if you add a good Canadian A you get a nice bit of doctored leftovers.

                    Bangers are sausages.
                    Squeek is cabbage.

OK Rich, since you like bringing up these silly sounding British foods, can you explain this one? I saw it in my local grocery store the other day and I was still giggling two aisles over.....

I was tempeted buy a can and give it a try (or at least leave it sitting around the lunchroom at work), but at $5.59 I decided to pass.

I don't know what it is, but I think you are obligated by law to tell your partner if you have it.

Spotted dick is mentioned in historical naval fiction, such as the Bolitho series by Alexander Kent and the Aubrey/Maturin novels by Patrick O'Brian. I'd have to Google it to remind myself what it is, though. And I didn't realize one could buy it today, in a can.

It's listed on the label as Sponge Pudding, but I wonder if it might firm up a bit once it's out of the can?

Spotted Dick is a steamed suet pudding containing dried fruit (usually currants) commonly served with custard,

At least that's what Wikipedia thinks.
