Left over potato's and cabbage fried up( or any other veg you have left over). Good thing I post these late in the day otherwise Ray would be getting them right off.
OK Rich, since you like bringing up these silly sounding British foods, can you explain this one? I saw it in my local grocery store the other day and I was still giggling two aisles over.....
I was tempeted buy a can and give it a try (or at least leave it sitting around the lunchroom at work), but at $5.59 I decided to pass.
Spotted dick is mentioned in historical naval fiction, such as the Bolitho series by Alexander Kent and the Aubrey/Maturin novels by Patrick O'Brian. I'd have to Google it to remind myself what it is, though. And I didn't realize one could buy it today, in a can.
I don't know what it is, but I think you are obligated by law to tell your partner if you have it.

It's listed on the label as Sponge Pudding, but I wonder if it might firm up a bit once it's out of the can?
