    Powerpoint question

Is it Powerpoint or Power Point? Anyhow, one of our daughters gave us a beautiful presentation she made of our lives. We saw it on her computer, but can't see it on ours. The problem is we don't have Powerpoint. Is there a way to open the file without having the program?

Go online and do a search for a pps viewer and download it. You will be able to watch power point presentation with it. It is on the Microsoft website also www.microsoft.com/downloads

If you wanted you could also download Open Office for free. It is a full-on suite of sofware for creating and editing documents, spreadsheets, etc. Fully compatible with Power Point and the other MS Office suite products.

It's none of the above. Microsoft calls it PowerPoint all one word with two capital Ps.

I think google docs will play them for you, too if you only have a browser (like IE Explorer or Firefox).
But if you have a PC, I'd get the Microsoft viewer for free.

Not exactly correct. I once had, about a year ago, open office.org software. I found that their program was not compatible with PowerPoint. I solved that by buying MS Office suite.

Ed I have found the PPT viewer available from microsoft works.

YMMV I guess. I have Open Office installed on my machine at work and MS Office v2003 on my laptop. I just finished working on the chart deck for a class I am teaching on Thursday. Been going back and forth between the software suites for the last several weeks. Working on it in OO today and wrapped it up/final edits tonight. No problems. Did you save the file in Open Office as its native format or did you save it as a PowerPoint .ppt file?
