LOML's playroom with catwalk. The catwalk is a shelf that runs alongside a structural beam that supports the 2 foot overhang without requiring a post to carry snow loads from the roof to the ground. It's wrapped in wood.

Cool! That is looking sharp. I love the huge porches with the cantilever. The exposed gluelams inside are nice. I always like seeing structural elements like that exposed.

Hehe, a catwalk for cats... How do they get up there? Electric kitty lift?

Any particular reason why there's no shop pics? How's that lift/hoist/? design going?

Awesome! I had no idea you were so far along in construction. It looks great. I'm particularly envious of the lake view from your office.

Speaking of lake view, I just presumed all along that you were building in Truckee or out that way. You have a wonderful location. Position A.

I suppose you will soon be haughtily lamenting the influx of flatlanders on weekends. Is there enough room in the ski locker for my 203's?

Looks like a mighty fine shop to me, you could park the house off to one side of the drive. If you had an understanding loyl, you might at least give it a try.

Our cats will reach the catwalk by climbing a tall cat tree that's waiting to be set next to it. Either that or I have a project to build in short order.

The shop is underneath the garage. 21'x21' with 220V power for my DC and table saw.

I've had one quote for a suitable industrial grade chain hoist at $2300 delivered (but not installed). If the movers can lower my tools without it, I think we'll wait but I'm getting a clearer idea of what I need and how to make the whole hoist arrangement work.

If I had a floatplane, it might be on the lake. However there's not enough flat ground nearby for an airport so the airplane is based 20 minutes away. Hopefully I'll have a hangar lined up by the time the snow flies.
