    The Reluctant Attendee

We went to a local heavy horse show last Sunday (July 26th.) and I grabbed this shot (click to enlarge)of one of a pair of Dax who wasn't interested in the show ring at all!

    Ray.

good example of the use of DOF (depth of field) with a long focal length lens.

      Cute doggie...definitely reluctant.

Hey...lets guess the settings. I'm probably way off.

      F 5.6
      125/sec

        Camera: Pentax K10D
Lens: Pentax DA 18-250mm at 250mm
        ISO: 100
        Shutter: 1/180th. second
        Aperture: F6.3
        Metering: multi-segmented

You weren't that far off, CabMan - and you couldn't have guessed the lens length without other info.

          Ray.

          That's quite an incredible range:18-250mm.

It is, but there is at least one lens with an even larger range. Tamron makes an 18-270mm lens. But it is only available for Canon and Nikon.

I normally try to not guess and have an EXIF viewer installed in Firefox that gives me all of that information, but it isn't available for Ray's photo.

            Nice photo Ray.
