    trouble getting sketch up working

I just loaded sketch-up on my laptop, it is running vista and has what the site says it needs. the training videos etc work but when i try to start the main program it comes up and the sits with the hour glass and goes into "not reponding" I have dumped it and reloaded it. I also got a new version from the download and get the same results. I run internet with firefox. anyone have any suggestions.

do you have any sort of firewall running on your laptop, sketchup may be trying to head out to google and look for updates

SketchUp can be a little fussy about video cards, so you might double-check the system requirements there and make sure you're up to snuff. It particularly doesn't like ATi Radeon cards, although that is what I happen to have in my box. Performance with large models is flaky enough that I'm seriously considering getting a difference card.

my video card is a NVIDIA GeForce go 6150

Do you think that it may not like going through Firefox to the internet.

I would think you can eliminate the graphics card issue by installing Google Earth. If it runs then it's not an Open GL issue. If it won't then there is something funny with your LT video or it's drivers. You might want to have Vista search for an update to the video driver. See post below....

It's got nothing to do with FF (IMHO).

yeah, update video drivers before anything else.
