Am I the only one that saw the title and thought "but where would you put the clothes?"?

I do agree it is hard to fathom the use and try to satisfy the need, but my mind keeps going to "do you have, or have access to a welder?"
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

First, thanks for all the input. I've searched McMaster and Enco and Fastenal for slugs and discs but come up with precious little.

I have a customer that is a custom laser shop (those giant Mitsubishi lasers). I have had them run jobs like this for me in the past, but was hoping to find something off the shelf. I don't like taking advantage of our relationship.

I think I'm going back to the drawing board.

Could a hole saw without the center bit be used to cut one out of some sheet metal? The metal would have to be in a vise and a drill press used.

That's not a bad idea, I've have to see if they make hole saws that are small enough. I've done the same thing with wood, I don't know why I couldn't do it with steel and a suitable bimetal blade.

How about a disk-shaped magnet? I've seen them in many sizes. Just bought some fridge magnets at Dollar Tree. (They're actually bag closures with magnets that will pop off with a screwdriver.) Don't know if a magnet will satisfy your requirements but it is a thought.

I don't know what you want to do with the discs, but a few years ago, some cars(Fiat,Alpha Romeo,Sunbeam, and Jaguar to name a few)used hardend steel discs to set tappet clearances between the top of the tappets and the lobes of the overhead camshafts. These discs were available in incremental sizes regarding thickness and may still be available thru specialist auto supply sources.

                      Sorry Cabinetman.

It is for a clamping mechanism on a bandsaw guide assembly.

I agree with Tom Slick, even a teeny-tiny metal lathe will make that for you in a hurry. You could hop into one of the 7x groups and probably find a local guy that would do the work for free if you asked nicely... If you're going to need "many" then the round stock and a saw, or a punch are probably better options.
