There are many things I learned about for the first time when I moved from Atlanta to Minnesota years ago. Like snowthrowers, ice fishing, the dangers of ice dams and the need to use a roof rake, the hazards of glare ice, the importance of the term "cold-cranking amps", how to tell a Norwegian from a Swede, and of course the hot dish.

You should be thankful that with global warming there's even less of a need for that down there. We on the other hand have to worry about gators and water moccasins and kudzu...

my neighbor in Houston had a snow blower in his garage. He told me that the company transferred him and paid to move everything so he moved it.
I don't know what he did with it when he moved out... didn't offer it to me.

          C-Man, that's not a snow. That's a flurry and a snow blower won't even touch it.

              Now THAT'S funny!!

But I have sprayed cooking oil over front of vehicle before (not windshield) while traveling during love bug season. Nearest self wash place washes it all right off. (Immediately upon arrival at destination). Got some weird looks though. (got kinda nasty looking after 400 miles.)
