        Pretty cool. Check out the link for 'world's fastest log splitter'. It is a neat idea but his hands are awful close to the business end of that thing.

                LOML just informed me that she's ordered a truckload of 16" tree rounds. I need to split about four or five cords of wood before November and I'm thinking a maul is probably not going to cut it (no pun intended).

                So, any advice on electric and/or manual hydraulic log splitters? I know a gasoline powered splitter is probably the most efficient way to go but it would not be easy to move one around on my property, which has a healthy slope in the back yard.

                  I have had very good experience with the Ryobi electric splitter. 4 tons. If you have 16 inch trunks though, it may be hard for the Ryobi.
