    Do your dogs...??

Do you dogs sneeze when they drink beer?

My boy ran up when i was locking up the shop and was really intrested with my beverage. I poured a little on the concrete pad and all 5 had to have some. They all started sneezing too. They did keep begging for more.

Emma, our two year old boxer, drools puddles when someone has a beer around. My son started her on it and now she's hooked! Crack open a long neck and the stuff just runs out of those saggy lips.

My beagle loves the stuff too, but I dunno if she sneezes. She sneezes all the time as it is.

It's been a long time since I had one, but as I recall he would have a sneezing fit from anything even slightly carbonated.

Years ago when I was in high school, the family used to have a dachshund who was a sloppy drunk... "Rebel" would beg pitifully anytime he saw a beer, and lustily chug the whole thing from the bottle if offered (Miller was his favorite). Then he would stagger around until he fell down someplace, and nap for an hour or so. I don't remember any sneezing, but if you went anywhere near him while he was sleeping one off, you'd better be wearing a gas mask... Phew!

I had a neighbor w/ a mutt, and both of them were fond of onion rings and beer. One July 3rd the two of 'em stayed up all night and ate onion rings and drank beer, then went to the 4th of July celebration the next morning (in the 90-degree plus heat).

I'd say there was approx. a 15' cloud around the two of them. His wife, who had been visiting family the night before and arrived to enjoy the raising of the flag with him was standing there reciting the pledge, when all of a sudden I heard her exclaim, "Don't keep blaming the dog!" and then she took about six steps to her left.

But once the food and beer tents were open, the two of them were seen having more beer and rings.

My Boxer used to LOVE beer! She would drink as much as I let her but you must beware that more than an ounce or two can seriously harm a dog according to the vet.

Lakota loved beer but he was allergic to alcoholic beverages. He would get a couple laps in then sneeze his head off for 5 minutes, then come back and stare longingly at the rest of the beer. He wouldn't drink anymore then, but the next time I had a beer he'd ask for some and it'd start all over again.

That's probably sound advice, but there certainly are exceptions. "Rebel" was wasted 3 times a week, but lived to 19 years, and only then had to be put down from injuries suffered in a fight (he tried to boink a male shepherd 5 times his size... bad idea...).
